Long have I resisted because emails can be forwarded as sms from our SITEFORUM corporate portal to my cellphone. No problem.
However, more and more of our customers and business partners use Blackberrys and more and more emails reach me each day with a signature saying "sent by my blackberry". I decided it was time to go with the flow.
I ordered the newest product on the market. As soon as it arrived I did some research to to find out if I could give easily offload my still new and beloved Sony Ericsson K800i. The answer was "yes" - still in demand!
Setting up and configuring the unit I call T-Mobile to release the right service and soon I am ready. Every 15 minutes it connects with our SITEFORUM mailserver, downloads new emails and indicates by a red-blinking LED if there are new ones to be read. Before or after reading them I can decide whether to keep or delete each message - in the phone and/or on the mailserver.
Attachments like PDF, Office documents and websites are easy to read although the format and graphics are slightly restricted by the screen-size. This solution is unbeatable on the road: wherever mobile phones work, the red-blinking LED indicates the arrival of new emails and allows immediate response and action.
Conclusion: SITEFORUM and Blackberry are the ideal combination for Road Warriors!
