The SITEFORUM Poll Manager enables you to create and manage an unlimited amount of polls in your portal. Polls can be addressed to all users or to specific user groups.
1. Overview polls
To get an overview of existing polls you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
In case polls exist already you get to the following overview:
- Name Shows the name of the poll.
- Active Describes the status of the poll, green = active, red = inactive.
- Counts Shows the number of votes, how many times the poll was answered.
- Vote By clicking the icon you can vote for the corresponding poll.
Advice: Every user can vote for a poll just once.
- Statistic By clicking the icon you can view the statistic of the poll.
The results will be shown in both percentage and raw number format.
- Translate By clicking the icon you get to the translating mode, q.v. 4.1 Translate poll.
- Edit By clicking the icon you get to the editing mode, q.v. 3. Edit poll.
- Delete By clicking the icon you can delete the poll.

2. Create new poll
To create a new poll you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- Click the tab Create new poll.
- ID of the poll Describes the ID of the poll which is given by the system.
- Enter in the field Name of the poll a name.
- Enter in the field Poll Question the text of the poll.
- Enter in the fields Choice 1 - 5 the choices.
Advice: You can create an unlimited number of choices.
Click the button More choices to create additional choices.
- Activate the option Poll is active to activate the poll.
- Choose in the area End when your poll should end:
- Poll will be closed manually to close the poll manually at any time or
- Poll ends on this date to close the poll automatically at a specified date.
Choose from the selection boxes Month, Day and Year the desired date or use the calendar.
- Choose in the area Selections the kind of selection:
- Allow just a single answer to allow only a single choice or
- Allow multiple answers to allow multiple choices.
- Activate the option Results if users will be allowed to see poll results at all times.
- Activate the option Front page to publish the poll directly on the front page.
Advice: Only one poll can appear on the front page.
- Choose in the area User group the user group(s) which is (are) allowed to participate in the poll.
To select multiple user groups hold down the CTRL key and use your mouse to click the groups that are allowed to vote.
- From the selection box Language choose the language of the poll, e.g. "eng" for English.
- Click the button Save when ready.

3. Edit poll
To edit a poll you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- In the overview choose the poll you want to edit.
- Click the icon Edit.
- Do the desired changes, q.v. 2. Create new poll.
- Click the button Save when ready.

4. Translations
You can translate all polls in different languages to offer them multilingual.
4.1 Translate poll
To translate a poll you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- In the overview choose the poll you want to translate.
- Click the icon Translate.
You get to the translating mode:
- ID Shows the ID of the language which is given by the system.
- Name Shows the name of the poll in the corresponding language.
- Language Shows the language and the corresponding flag.
- Edit By clicking the icon you get to the editing mode.
Advice: Only an existing translation can be edited.
- Delete By clicking the icon you can delete the translation.
Advice: Only an existing translation can be deleted.
- Choose the language in which you want to translate the poll.
- Click the button Add poll translation.
- Translate all desired fields in the corresponding language.
- Activate the option Translation is active to activate the translation.
- Click the button Save when ready.

4.2 Edit translation
To edit a translation you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- In the overview choose the poll whose translation you want to edit.
- Click the icon Translate.
- Choose the language you want to edit.
- Click the icon Edit.
- Do the desired changes, q.v. 4.1 Transalte poll.
- Click the button Save when ready.

4.3 Delete translation
To delete a translation you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- In the overview choose the poll whose translation you want to delete.
- Click the icon Translate.
- Choose the language you want to delete.
- Click the icon Delete.
- Confirm the erasing procedure by clicking the button OK.

5. View statistics
To view a statistic of a poll you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- In the overview choose the poll whose statistic you want to view.
As far as votes exist already you get results in both percentage and raw number format.

6. Vote for a poll
With this function as a "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager" you can preview the poll to check if it was created correctly and you can test it.
Please log in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- Choose in the overview the poll you want to vote for.
- Click the icon Vote.
- Vote for the poll and go back in your browser window.

7. Delete poll
To delete a poll you must be logged in as "Portal Master" or "Polling Manager."
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Marketing & CRM > Polls.
- Choose in the overview the poll you want to delete.
- Click the icon Delete.
- Confirm the erasing procedure by clicking the button OK.
