A "blog," short for "webblog," is a digital diary. The "blogger" writes stuff he's interested in, he experienced or what he thinks others could be interested in. The last entry is ranked first.
1. Blogs
| Note: Depending on access rights of the portal you may read blogs without login but not comment on them or write new ones. It can also be that you cannot read blogs until you are logged in. That's variable from portal to portal. |
To get to the blogs, please log in if necessary.
- Click the link Blogs.

You get to the overview of the different blog elements:
- Top blog tags Shows the five best tags.
- Newest blogs Shows the five newest blogs.
- Most viewed blogs Shows the five most viewed blogs.
- Most discussed blogs Shows the five most discussed blogs.
- Toprated blogs Shows the five toprated blogs.
- Most active authors Shows the five most active authors.
Note: Depending on access rights you can modify the names of these links as well as the display of the blog elements, q.v. Support > End User > Tools & Administration > Application Links.
- Click the particular blog element to get to the blogs of that element.
- Click the desired blog to read it.
Now you can rate the blog, read and write comments and view the profile of the blog author:
Rate blog
- Move the mouse over the stars. The stars become green.
- Click the last star, which will let you cast a ballot.
Below the stars the message Rating was counted appears.
Read comments
- Click the link # Comments on the right below the blog.
All comments are listed among each other.
Write comments
- Click the link # Comments on the right below the blog.
If comments exist already they are listed.
- Enter in the area Add a comment in the field Name your name.
- Enter in the field Content your comment.
Use the WYSIWYG editor to format the text.
- Click the button Save when ready.
By clicking the link
Delete you can delete your comment.
View the profile of the blog author
- Click the name of the blog author.
You get to his profile.

1.1 Overview
The blog overview shows your collected blogs.
- Click the menu Blogs.
- Click the link Overview or My Blogs.
Note: These links may be called differently.
You get to the overview:
- Title/Date Shows title, date and time of the blog creation.
By clicking the title you get to the blog.
- Views Shows the number of views of the blog.
- Comments Shows the number of comments.
- Rating Shows the average ratings of the blog.
- Edit By clicking the icon you get to the editing mode.
- Delete By clicking the icon you can delete the blog.

1.2 Add Blog
- Click the menu Blogs.
- Click the tab Add Blog.
Note: These links may be called differently.
- Enter in the field Title the title of the blog.
- Enter in the field Content the content of the blog. Use the editor to format the text.
- Activate in the area Assign tags to your blog article the desired tags.
- If required choose from the selection box Category a category.
- If required click the button Preview.
- Click the button Save when ready.

1.3 Edit
- Click the menu Blogs.
- Click the link Overview.
Note: These links may be called differently.
- Choose the blog you want to edit.
- Click the icon Edit.
- Edit the blog as desired, q.v. 1.2 Add Blog.
- If required click the button Preview.
- Click the button Save when ready.

1.4 Delete
- Click the menu Blogs.
- Click the link Overview.
- Choose the blog you want to delete.
- Click the icon Delete.
- Confirm the erasing procedure by clicking the button OK.

2. Templates
| Note: Only as a "Portal Master" you are able to create templates. |
With blog templates you control the display of blogs.
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Networks & Community > Blogs.
- In the navigation on the left, below Blogs click Templates.
2.1 Assign
- Choose in the Overview from the selection box the desired template, on which the blogs should be based.
- Click the button Assign.

2.2 Add
- Click the tab Add.
- Enter in the field Code HTML or CSS code to describe the template.
- If required choose in the area Placeholders available placeholders.
Click the red arrow to get the selection.
- If required choose in the area Special Characters some special characters.
Click the red arrow to get the selection.
- Enter in the field Name a name for the template.
- Click the button Save.
You can edit or delete templates you have added.

3. Tags
| Note: Only as a "Portal Master" you are able to create tags. |
| Warning: Tags must be created first to be able to create blogs. |
- Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
- Then click Tools & Administration > Tags.
- In the navigation on the left, below Tags click Add.
- Enter in the field Name the name for the tag.
- Choose in the area Group the group Blogs.
- Click the button Save when ready.
