SITEFORUM Portal Software: Groups

1. Groups: 1.1 Regular Members; 1.2 Group Managers

In Groups, members who are interested in a certain subject meet to discuss and exchange opinions. Every member can suggest a new group which will be verified first before it gets published. The member who suggested the new groups becomes Group Manager automatically. Every member can join existing groups.

Warning: The given links and names can diverge from the network you are using. This depends on the operating company.

1. Groups

Please log in with your login data.
To get to the groups please click the link Groups.

Note: Regular group members have limited access compared to Group Managers. If you are not a member of the group your view and access is more limited.

1.1 Regular Members

All Groups

All existing groups are listed:

By clicking the Name of the group you get to the start page.
Here you see the Group Manager and new members. By clicking the particular Name you get to the profile.
By clicking the button Join now you get to the membership application. Enter the reason why you want to join the group and click the button Save. The Group Manager gets an email and verifies if you get admitted.

My Groups

Here you find all groups you are joining.

By clicking the Name or the button Open you get to the Start page of the group.
Here you see:
- Group Manager By clicking the Name you get to the profile.
- New members Here you see all members of the group. By clicking the Name you get to the corresponding profile.
- Forum By clicking the name you get to the particular forum in which you can read and write messages.
- Stories By clicking the title you get to the particular story which you can rate und to which you can add comments. Depending on your rights you can also create new stories.

Suggest a new group

If there is no group for your subject or if you want to be Group Manager you can suggest a new group. The operator of the network verifies your suggestion and accepts the group or declines it.

Fill in the fields in the area Details, Reasons and qualifications, Group forum and Membership and click the button Save.

You receive a message if your group was accepted.

1.2 Group Manager

Beside the possibilities of regular members, Group Managers also see the following in My groups:

Members

Here you see all members of the group.

By clicking the Name you get to the particular profile.
In the area Add new Group Manager you can set a member as Group Manager or as Co Manager.

Member applications

Here you find applications of other members who want to join the group. You can accept or decline the member by clicking the corresponding icon.

Newsletter

Here you can send a newsletter to group members. Fill in the fields in the area Compose newsletter and test or send the newsletter.

Settings

Here you can take general group settings. Fill in the fields and click the button Save.
