This new strategic initiative provides a national service within which the franchisees can create and manage their own local sites for each restaurant. They can use these to promote local activities, connect with their customers and provide restaurant-specific information. At the same time, McDonald’s can publish and promote national campaigns across all the franchisee sites, boosting their business and enhancing their web presence.
One key objective for McDonald’s is to develop their brand and corporate identity consistently nationwide. The local franchisees are now able to showcase their restaurants, facilities and opening hours and can publish individual offers in an attractive, easy-to-use online system. They can upload images to illustrate their restaurants and, in the next phase, use social media tools and social networking to engage with customers. McDonald’s retains important branding and business process control.
Dirk Schlenzig, CEO SITEFORUM Group, comments: “We are very proud to partner with McDonald’s to deliver this exciting new service and are confident that this national solution will deliver excellent results by empowering the local operators. We have enjoyed a successful partnership with Strato for some time and are pleased to collaborate with them again on this project”.
The first sites are live today at www.mcdonalds-timme.de, www.mcdonalds-anhalt.de and www.mcdonalds-augsburg.de. Many more will go live in the next weeks.
