The Young Readers Initiative has made it its mission to systematize and return knowledge and experiences with the operation of a database, a network of regular workshops and an ongoing exchange between the member publishers. Active participation is expected within the community: in expanding the knowledge base, to participate in surveys, in discussions in workshops and through a willingness to help colleagues within the network.
With the help of the SITEFORUM Social Business Suite the JULE Community has all important social functions at its disposal. These are particularly useful for communicating with the publishing staff and also serve the networking in this industry. Active members include representatives of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Main Post and the WAZ media group.
Mr. Thomas Bertz, CEO of Jule about SITEFORUM: “We are using SITEFORUM as an intranet solution. More than 300 editors and staff from newspaper publishers, representing more than half of the local and regional newspapers published in Germany, are linked here communicating and offering best practice examples. SITEFORUM is a brilliant platform that brings together all the state of the art functionalities of the Internet.” In 2010 shareholders of Jule, the BDZV e.V. and the TBM Marketing GmbH, had to decide whether to develop their own solution or to use a standard one. “The decision for SITEFORUM has proved to be correct in regard to financial and functional terms. We benefit from regular performance enhancements and the service is always in a professional and prompt manner”, Bertz says in retrospect.
