Image Tool

With the integrated Image Tool you won't need Image Editing Programs any more. Now you can modify images inside SITEFORTUM.
Note: You can modify .gif, .jpg and .png images with the Image Tool.

1. File System

To modify an image in the Image Tool you have to select it in the file system.
  1. Please log in as "Portal Master" or "Designer."
  2. Click the button Portal Manager to get to the administrative area.
  3. Then click Tools & Administration > Files.
  4. Select the folder in which the file you want to modify is placed.
  5. Select the image file you want to modify.
  6. Click the icon Edit on the right of the table.
  7. Click the command Edit.
The image opens up in the Image Tool which is located in the section Design & Layout.

2. Edit Image Size

In the area Image Size below the image you can enter the Pixel for a new size:
  1. Enter in the line New Size in the column Width the desired width in Pixel.
  2. Click the button Save New Size.
    Note: Above the image a field opens up in which you can enter a new name so you don't overwrite the existing file.
  3. If required enter in the field New Name a new name for the file.
  4. Click the button OK when ready.
Note: The height adapts to the width relatively.

3. Transfer Image Colors

You can add the colors of the chosen image to your color palette.
Note: Below the image in the area Image Colors you see the note "Click into the image to select a color." If you did this you get the color value in hexadecimal and in RGB.
  1. Put the mouse over the image.
    The cursor becomes a crosshair.
  2. At the desired point click with the left mouse button.
    Below the image in the area Image Colors you get the color values of the chosen point, which are displayed exactly in X and Y values.
  3. If required click Add to individual color palette to save the color values there.
  4. Repeat this process as often as necessary.

4. Settings

Directly above the image several menus are available. In the menu Settings you have the following possibilities:
  • By clicking Startpage you get back to the original file inside the Image Tool. This is useful e.g. if you have zoomed in the image.
  • By clicking Open you get back to the last opened folder/top folder in the File Manager to open another image file in the Image Tool, q.v. 1. File System.
  • By clicking Close you close the Image Tool and get back to the last function you were using.

5. View

Directly above the image several menus are available. In the menu View you have the following possibilities:
  • By clicking Default Values you can set the image to a default value, like they are saved in the portal. To edit the default values go to Design & Layout > General Settings > Line Image Widths.
  • By clicking Zoom out (-5%) you reduce the image by 5 %. Click as often as needed. In the area Image Size below the image you can save the new size with a new name.
  • By clicking Zoom in (+5%) you extend the image by 5 %. Click as often as needed. In the area Image Size below the image you can save the new size with a new name.
  • By clicking Zoom you can reduce or extend the image to a certain percentage rate. Click as often as needed. In the area Image Size below the image you can save the new size with a new name.
  • By clicking Fullsize you can view the image in fullsize, without any SITEFORUM Menus around. The image opens up in the original size. By clicking Fullsize again you get back.

6. Modify

Directly above the image several menus are available. In the menu Modify you have the following possibilities:
  • By clicking Image Size below the image you can set a new size by entering the Pixels:
    1. Enter in the line New Size in the column Width the desired width in Pixels.
    2. Click the button Save New Size.

    3. If required enter in the field New Name a new name for the file.
    4. Click the button OK when ready.
