With story types you can categorize your stories thematcally. There is the „Standard Story Type“ like „Wiki“but you can add own story types like studies, professional articles, checklists, etc.
With the help of story types you can e.g. add a menu which displays exclusively stories of a certain type, independent of the assigned menu of the story.
